About the Church
St Lawrence ( rosemary)

St Lawrence Church has entered its third millennium as a Christian site for over a thousand years.

The earliest church was an Anglo-Saxon Minster. The Norman rebuilding has given us a superb example of their work; admire the massive tower crossing and the South transept.

The clerestory and many other later features attest to the continuing importance of St Lawrence Church as a building as well as its primary purpose as a place of Christian worship. In every way the building makes an important statement deserving of support.

Aims of the Friends

To enlarge the circle of people who love the church and who wish to provide extra care for its fabric the ornaments and furnishings.
To consider the needs of the church buildings etc. and to raise funds for their repair and restoration
To enhance the church facilities taking into account the needs of people in the 21st century

Give as you Live is a shopping and price comparison website with a heart. You can shop for products from thousands of leading online retailers; use their price comparison tool to ensure you get the best price and even save money by using the exclusive offers and deals available on their site.

Don’t forget, a percentage of every purchase you make will be donated to the charity of your choice.

By obtaining and using pre-loaded store cards (Tesco, Asda, and M & S) you can also raise funds for The Friends of St Lawrence without having to shop on the internet

These pre-loaded cards are used as an alternative to cash, credit or debit cards

You can transfer money from your bank account to your store card. You will receive a statement each time you use the card which indicates your balance

Please give this scheme a try. It is cost free to users and will help maintain your Church
You do not have to be a member of the Church or The Friends of St Lawrence to take part.

In this period of uncertainty, the Friends have not been able to raise funds by their usual means.

However, I have been able to register our charity with Amazon. If you copy the following address into your browser,it will take you to an Amazon page which is headed with a reference to the Friends. A percentage of anything you spend at Amazon will be directed to our account.

Collectively, this could be invaluable in helping to raise funds at a time when we are prevented from holding our normal programme of events.

Please give it a try.

Stay safe
